शिवमुद्रा ग्लोबल फाउंडेशन ही व्हर्जिनिया, अमेरिका येथे नोंदणीकृत असलेली एक ना-नफा संस्था आहे. या संस्थेची स्थापना अमेरिकेत मराठी संस्कृती व पारंपरिक संगीत यांचा प्रचार आणि प्रसार करण्याच्या उद्देशाने करण्यात आली. शिवमुद्रा ढोल ताशा पथकाची सुरुवात वॉशिंग्टन डी.सी. येथे झाली.
अल्पावधीतच या पथकाची उल्लेखनीय वाढ झाली आणि आज शिवमुद्रा परिवार ५० हून अधिक सदस्यांचा झाला आहे. डी.सी. परिसरात पारंपरिक वाद्यांच्या गजरात मराठी संस्कृतीची जपणूक करणे हे शिवमुद्रा ग्लोबल फाउंडेशनचे स्वप्न आहे. मराठी संस्कृती व परंपरांमध्ये रुची असलेले सर्वजण शिवमुद्रा डी.सी. कुटुंबात सदैव स्वागतार्ह आहेत. शिवमुद्रा ढोल ताशा पथकात पारंपरिक मराठी वाद्यांचा समावेश आहे, ज्यात ढोल, ताशा, झांज, लेझीम, आणि ध्वज यांचा समावेश आहे.
Shivmudra Global Foundation, a non-profit organization registered in Virginia, USA, was established with the mission of promoting Marathi culture and traditional music across America. The journey began in Washington, D.C., with the formation of the ‘Shivmudra’ Dhol Tasha Pathak.
In a short span of time, the team flourished and grew into a vibrant community—now known as the Shivmudra family—with over 100 active members.
Shivmudra Global Foundation is driven by the dream of cultivating and celebrating Marathi cultural heritage in the DC area through the powerful rhythms of traditional music. Everyone with an interest in Marathi culture and traditions is warmly welcomed to join the Shivmudra DC family.
The Shivmudra Dhol Tasha Pathak features a dynamic ensemble of traditional Marathi instruments, including Dhol, Tasha, Zanj, Lezim, and Dhwaj (flag).
Mission
The mission of Shivmudra Global Foundation is to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtrian music by performing traditional Indian music using authentic instruments such as Dhol, Tasha, Jhanj, Lezim, and flags. We strive to bring this centuries-old folk tradition to the Indian diaspora living in the U.S., especially in and around Washington DC.
Through our performances, we aim to connect communities, celebrate our culture, and instill pride in our heritage right in the heart of the nation’s capital. Our commitment goes beyond cultural celebration—we actively support nonprofit organizations by participating in fundraising events, using our art as a means to create meaningful social impact.
A core part of our vision is to pass this cultural tradition on to the next generation. We want our children to not only witness but learn, embrace, and carry forward the legacy of dhol-tasha. To make this possible, we offer dedicated practice sessions, summer camps, and performance opportunities for youth to help them develop a deeper connection to their roots and ensure that this vibrant tradition continues to thrive.
